I was a new learner trying to get my Class 6 and had never been on a motorcycle before this.

I took a full riding course with a local motorcycle school and passed my MST. I then rode for a month or so but I was not totally happy with my confidence on the road.

After three lessons with R0y, my skills improved so much I easily passed my test and the examiner even commented on my awareness and how I was always looking around me!

I had so much fun learning with R0y and he helped me with lots of little tricks to remember important things that I still use today.

I would highly recommend Shiny Side Up Motorcycle Training to anyone looking to pass their ICBC motorcycle test(s) and also for experienced riders trying to touch up their skills.

A day is all it took, it was hard for me to imagine that I'd pass a motorcycle test in Canada. One attempt and now I'm a Class 6 rider in Canada. It was an amazing experience learning from R0y,  Just keep your eyes and mind focused and you'll pass hands down.  Follow the rules and follow his advice. Thanks R0y!

R0y took me out for a 2 1/2 hour intensive and I passed the class 6 losing only one point - for stopping too close to the car in front of me. The ICBC tester said 'Your moto skills were PERFECT'. The language of the road is different for bikes, so investing in knowledge and safety is the best thing you can do as a licensed rider. The end goal isn't just to pass, it's always skill building, which leads to confidence and safety, which means a lot more fun. He watched my riding carefully and was always communicating the safer choice and reasons why. I'm so grateful for his help, I'm a better rider because of it. Highly recommend training with him!

I cannot recommend R0y enough!

In the days leading up to my test I was feeling pretty uneasy about riding in general, my confidence and abilities were subpar and everything I could think of needed some kind of improvement.

When R0y came along, he brought loads of dedication, understanding and patience.

He spoke to me in a language I could easily understand on the go and made it simple to learn rather than over complicate things with lots of details.

I cannot describe how much help he was to me and I passed my test with ease thanks to him, and I know for sure I would not have been ready if I had not taken lessons with The Shiny Side Up and R0y.

I really have never had a teacher that truly cared about me and the outcome, and I can't thank him enough for the amazing help he's been.

Contacting R0y was the best decision I made. A week before my test I was still nervous riding solo on the road, so I reached out to R0y. He truly went above and beyond to help me succeed. Not only did he fit me in on his day off, he lent me rain gear for the week and provided numerous resources outside of our sessions. R0y is so thorough in his sessions that it was as if he was in my ear during the test , which resulted in passing with a perfect score. He is truly dedicated to his students' success and I cannot recommend him enough.

R0y was fantastic. I was able to pass my test in the first try. He helped me tremendously with increasing my skills beyond taking the road test but to develop the confidence to ride with wisdom and road smart to enjoy life long enjoyment to ride.

This instructor is an absolute motorcycle driving and safety whiz,  with a zeal for doing things properly. He not only completely assured me of how to pass the ICBC road test, he ensured that I began driving with an attention to detail and an accuracy that excels the expectations of the ICBC road test. He is meticulously conscious of how to drive safely and efficiently as a motorcyclist, and he did his utmost to in-still this awareness in me. There were plenty of prudent details he pointed out to me that I had no cognizance of prior. He is a totally down-to-earth, personable, kind hearted and supportive mentor who delights to see his students succeed. I passed my test with flying colors thanks to the confidence he helped me to realize. Would highly recommend employing his knowledge and insight. God bless R0y Swift!

I came from India with many years riding experience but nothing in Canada. When I met R0y he was very quick to notice what I was doing wrong that would fail my test. I felt that he did more than get me through my test first time, he gave me many road skills that will help me stay safe and enjoy my riding. He also helped me in finding a Moterbike for my test and he was also very helpful after the lessons with general tips on bike maintenance and how to store my bike in the winter.
